Structure
The IN-HOPPE Network comprises researchers, doctoral students, research teams at institutions in France and elsewhere involved in some or all of the fields of exploration; it is the expression of their desire to work together. INED provides coordination via grants and technical and logistical support. Isabelle Séguy leads the Network and assumes scientific responsibility for it. She is assisted by a Steering Committee that coordinates the lines of research and regulates the scientific activity, and a Scientific Committee that guarantees the quality and reputation of the Network’s activities. The internal functioning of the Thematic Research Network is subject to published Rules of Procedure.

Themes
The populations of the past are studied through textual sources and bioarchaeological archives. Some major themes have been defined and are supported by a cross-methodological axis.

The Scientific Committee

The scientific commitee shall guarantee the quality and public awareness of Network activities, and support it in its work of parntnership, expertise and response to various levels of requests for proposals.

It shall mee once a year, when it shall evaluate the activities of the IN-HOPPE Network and make such recommandations as is deems useful for the international development of the project.
